Helen Preddy, Esq.

Helen Preddy is an attorney/mediator, and the President of U.S. Arbitration and Mediation of Minnesota, Inc.  She received her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, and her mediation training at CDR in Boulder, Colorado.  Helen has taken advanced mediation course work in Colorado and at the Harvard School of Law, Program of Instruction for Lawyers, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Helen mediates sexual abuse allegations involving school districts, clergy, and high profile personalities. She also mediates personal injury, legal and medical malpractice claims, employment law, including ADA, sexual harassment, complex defamation issues and wrongful termination, corporate disputes, franchise issues, product liability, property damage, municipal issues, wrongful death, contracts disputes, and real estate matters.  She has mediated over 4,000 matters since 1989.

In 2005, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Portland, Oregon, took the joint recommendation of both Plaintiffs’ and Defense attorneys and appointed Helen to serve as one of four mediators in the Archdiocese of Portland bankruptcy matter.

Helen has conducted mediation seminars both in Minnesota and throughout the country, training private mediators, government employees, corporate professionals, college students and organizational professionals.

Preddy is noted for her expertise in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution. She is regarded throughout the country as a sensitive, energetic and tenacious mediator.
